The Law Of Prosperity -
The Key To Financial Freedom!
by Jeanniene Lee

God's Word - boldly declares from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelation that it's God's will that you walk in prosperity in every area of your life.

In Genesis, the book of beginnings, God boldly declared to Abram [whose name was later changed to Abraham] that He would bless him and make him a blessing. Further, God told Abram that He would make his name great (Genesis 12:2).

When God told Abram that He would bless him to be a blessing, God was saying to Abram that He was going to abundantly prosper him with prosperity so that he could be in a position to bless others. How can you be in a position to be a blessing to others if you aren't blessed yourself? You can't!

The word "bless" used in Genesis 12:2 is from the Hebrew word "barak" which means abundantly; and, the word "blessing" is from the word "berakah," which comes from "barak" and means prosperity.

Beloved, God was saying to Abram that He was going to abundantly prosper him in every area of his life, including financially. Genesis 13:2 and 6 confirms that God prospered Abram financially - "And Abram was VERY RICH in cattle, in silver, and in gold (verse 2). And the land was not able to bear them [Abram and Lot], that they might dwell together: for THEIR SUBSTANCE WAS GREAT, so that they could not dwell together (verse 6)."

Are you so prosperous and rich in substance that you and your relatives have to separate because the land can not contain you and the substance possessed by you combined? Are your bams and storehouses overflowing? Abraham's were. God so prospered Abraham that he and Lot could not even dwell together in the same region because of the magnitude of stuff. They were abundantly prosperous. They were rich!

Galatians 3:29 declares that "if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." Therefore, God's covenant with Abraham to abundantly prosper him is also God's covenant with us. Dear reader, since Jesus is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises (Hebrews 8:6), then God's covenant of prosperity is also included in our new covenant which has been sealed by Jesus' blood. Shout "Amen!" Somebody!

The book of Revelation gives us a glimpse into the abundance of prosperity, riches and royalty that surrounds God in heaven. Revelation 21:9-21 records the luxury of the heavenly city.

The city itself is of the finest and most precious of stones and of pure gold. The foundations of the wall of the city are garnished with all manner of precious stones; such as, jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald, sardonyx, sardius, chrysolyte, beryl, topaz, chrysoprase, jacinth, amethyst (verses 19 and 20).

The twelve gates of the city are of one pearl (verse 21). Beloved, the gates were not made of pearls, each gate IS one pearl; and, the streets of the city ARE of pure gold (verse 21). The gold is the purest, finest gold that ever existed and is transparent as glass.

Abundant prosperity IS NOT something God wants us to spend our whole life striving after, it's a lifestyle He wants us to enjoy and walk in daily; so that when we go to heaven, we will already be accustomed to riches and won't spend the first 1000 years walking around heaven with our mouths wide-open in awe of all the precious stones and pure gold surrounding us.

Psalm 35:27 (Amplified) 27 Let those who favor my righteous cause and have pleasure in uprightness shout for joy and be glad and say continually, LET THE LORD BE MAGNIFIED, WHO TAKES PLEASURE IN THE PROSPERITY OF HIS SERVANT.

Everything that we have need of has already been made available to us through the person of Jesus Christ; but, it will not come to us automatically just because we are Christians and believe in Jesus Christ. We have a vital part to play to actually take possession of God's promises which are outlined in His covenant - the Bible!

Prosperity has been made available, just like health and salvation; but, THERE ARE CONDITIONS TO OBTAINING GOD'S PROMISES. Just like salvation, for instance. God has made available to all of mankind salvation through the person of Jesus Christ; but, not everyone will accept that free gift. Those who will have a condition that they must meet which is outlined in Romans 10:9,10 and 13. THE CONDITION IS that they must confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in their heart that God raised Jesus from the dead in order to be saved.

Walking in God's abundant prosperity also has conditions. Not every Christian however will walk in God's abundant prosperity, although He has made it available to every believer, but only those who meet the conditions.

God has established and set in motion the greatest financial investment plan in history - the law of seedtime and harvest, sowing and reaping, tithes and offerings. It far exceeds the dividends earned on the highest interest earning savings plan, IRA account or stock investment. But just like any financial investment, there are conditions you must meet in order to increase your initial investment.

You can not keep your savings hidden in a tin can in the back yard and expect it to earn interest. You can not keep it tightly clenched in your hands and expect it to increase. Beloved, if you want your money to earn interest and grow, you must put it in a savings account or invest it.

Genesis 8:22 declares that "while the earth remaineth, SEEDTIME AND HARVEST, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night SHALL NOT CEASE." There are spiritual laws that God has established and have set in motion that also shall not cease. One of these laws is the law of prosperity.

Just like any law, there are regulations which govern that law. God's Word contains the regulations (conditions) that govern the law of prosperity.

We discussed earlier how God abundantly prospered Abraham; but, we did not discuss the conditions which caused Abraham to remain abundantly prosperous and his goods to continue increasing.

Remember what God told Abraham in Genesis 12:2? "And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shall be a blessing." Two chapters over it is recorded that Abraham gave the tithe, 10% of all he took possession of, back to God (Genesis 14:20, Hebrews 7:2). The word "tithe" is from the Hebrew word "maaser" which means tenth, thus implying ten percent of something.

Abraham adhered to the law of prosperity. Beloved, it didn't stop there. Tithing and giving of offerings was something that Abraham and all of the children of Israel adhered to and practiced continually (Leviticus 27:30-34, Deuteronomy 12:6-7; II Chronicles 31:11-12, Nehemiah 10:37-38, Malachi 3:10, Luke 18:12, Hebrews 7:1-9).

Beloved, undoubtedly, Abraham understood the importance of adhering to the law of prosperity - seedtime and harvest, sowing and reaping, giving of tithes and offerings. Just like any wise man, Abraham knew that he could not expect a harvest of increase by holding onto what God had first given unto him without sowing it, reinvesting it. The Bible instructs us to give to God the first portion of all of our increase. It's His!

Deuteronomy 26:2
2 That thou shalt take of the FIRST OF ALL THE FRUIT of the earth, which thou shalt bring of thy land THAT THE LORD THY GOD GIVETH THEE, and shalt put it in a basket, and shalt go unto the place which the Lord thy God shall choose to place his name there.
Proverbs 3:9-10
9 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the FIRSTFRUITS OF ALL THINE INCREASE:
10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Successful financial investors understand this principal quite clearly. They know that they can not "eat up" (spend) the entirety of the return on their investment and expect more to keep coming it. No, they understand that they must immediately reinvest, first, a percentage of their increase so that they will always have some "money working" for them -- seed in the ground.

Beloved, this is a biblical principle that even the unbeliever understands. You must keep sowing some financial seed, every time God prospers you with a harvest, if you want to keep your seed growing and producing for you more harvest. Remember, seedtime and harvest shall not cease (Genesis 8:22).

Additionally, you must guard over your financial seed, after you sow it, to ensure that your harvest is not stolen by your enemy (the devil). Every wise investor keeps track of the status of his investment to ensure that he is not cheated out of it in any way. This is an area where the majority of Christians miss it. They do not continue to stand in faith and believe God for the return, unhindered, on the financial seed sown; and the devil keeps on stealing them blind.

Did you notice the condition to Proverbs 3:9 and 10, as mentioned above? Verse 10 stated that "so shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine;" thus implying abundant prosperity. Beloved, there is a condition however to having plenty in your barns to the point of bursting out. The condition is in verse 9 -"honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase." Do you see it?

What is being said here in Proverbs 3:9 is clearly spelled out in II Corinthians 9:6-11, notice particularly verse 10. I encourage you to study and meditate upon this entire passage.

II Corinthians 9:6-10
6 But this I say, he which SOWeth SPARINGLY shall REAP also SPARINGLY; and he which SOWeth BOUNTIFULLY shall REAP also BOUNTIFULLY.
7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so LET HIM GIVE; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things [because of your sowing bountifully, thus adhering to the law of prosperity], may abound to every good work:
9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
10 NOW HE THAT MINISTERETH SEED TO THE SOWER [being God] both [first] minister bread for your food, and [secondly minister seed for you so you can] multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness).

Notice carefully what verse 10 said -God provides us, the sower, with sufficient seed to sow; and, by doing so, He equips us with what is necessary to ensure financial success and abundant prosperity. What He requires of us is to take what he gives us and reinvest it (adhere to the law of prosperity ~ sowing and reaping, seedtime and harvest).

What happens to a lot of Christians is the moment that they come into some money, they take it and EAT IT ALL UP (spend it) without reinvesting any; which means they do not tithe 10% of it to God as the Word requires us to do (Malachi 3:8-10) or give any additional offering as a gift unto God beyond the tithe.

Then, they are right back where they started from - broke without any money to even live off of and meet their everyday necessities of life. Beloved, no farmer is stupid enough to "eat up all of his seeds gathered from a harvest." Every time a farmer gathers a harvest, he will always put a portion of the seeds from that harvest back to have for replanting so that he can produce another harvest.

This is a natural principle which has strong spiritual implications. If you want a continual harvest, you must sow seeds continually. Besides that, you can't plant apple seeds and expect a peach crop. In other words, you can't expect finances to come forth for you if you haven't sown any money. Even an unbelieving financial banker/investor understands this, beloved. If you don't sow (invest) it, you will not have it coming in as a return. You sow nothing, you get nothing in return. You sow something, you have a harvest of return coming.

It really breaks my heart to hear Christians crying and moaning about not having enough to meet their needs; and when you talk to them, you find out that the very ones having financial difficulties don't tithe and give offerings on a CONSISTENT BASIS, if at all.
They expect God to keep providing them with seed to sow, and every time He does, they just eat it up. Wake up and get the revelation that ". . .[God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for) sowing [but you must sow what He provides you] and increase the fruits of your righteousness .. ." (II Corinthians 9:10, Amplified).

There is a spiritual law governing financial prosperity in the Kingdom of God. It is spelled out clearly in God's Word -- the Bible. If you don't adhere to it consistently, you can't expect to reap the benefits it promises - abundant prosperity.

God DID NOT establish the law of prosperity for His sake but for ours.

Giving of tithes and offerings is God's established law for increasing you and I. If we want to increase, we must adhere to the conditions He has established. He WILL NOT work for us OUTSIDE of the spiritual laws He has established; but, OBEDIENCE WILL ALWAYS BRING BLESSINGS. Guaranteed!

If you're having financial difficulties as a Christian, check up on your giving. Are you a consistent tither? Do you also give offerings above and beyond your tithes? If so, are you standing guard over your harvest, that legally belongs to you as a result of your adhering to the law of prosperity? Beloved, remind the devil, like Jesus did, what is written in the Word where your situation is concerned. Don't back down for a moment. YOUR HARVEST OF RETURN IS COMING, GUARANTEED, BECAUSE IT'S A SPIRITUAL LAW - SEEDTIME AND HARVEST SHALL NOT CEASE!
